City of Neptune Beach Florida

Neptune Beach is a quaint and quiet community situated in Duval County. It is just north of Jacksonville Beach and just south of Atlantic Beach. The historic Atlantic Boulevard separates Atlantic and Neptune Beach real estate. Natural borders to this 2.5 square mile city are the Intracoastal Waterway just to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

Neptune Beach got its name from Dan Wheeler. In 1922, by his home, he built a train station and called the station Neptune. The station was where the Sea Turtle Inn is now.

In 1931 Neptune Beach broke away from Jacksonville Beach because of taxes. The official city of Neptune Beach was founded.

Family friendly, Neptune Beach, has a wonderful park for gatherings. Jarboe park has a fitness trail, duck ponds, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, playgrounds, and a basketball court.
