City of Neptune Beach Florida

Neptune Beach is a quaint and quiet community situated in Duval County. It is just north of Jacksonville Beach and just south of Atlantic Beach. Neptune Beach got its name from Dan Wheeler. In 1922, by his home, he built a train station and called the station Neptune. The station was where the Sea Turtle Inn is now.

In 1931 Neptune Beach broke away from Jacksonville Beach because of taxes. The official city of Neptune Beach was founded.
